There are mainly three different types of horizontal storage beams, twin top beam, interlocking beams and step beam.
1. Twin top beam
twin top beam is the newest type of storage beam which are pretty similar to interlocking beams which are actually formed together with two C profiles. Advantages of twin top beam are as below:
- Higher productivity
- Less manpower
- less coil material
- More benefit in a very long term
2. Interlocking beam
These types of beams are still very popular among small and medium storage systems. Interlocking beam roll forming machine is much cheaper than twin top beam one, so interlocking beams are more cost effective, but only in a short term.
3. Step beam
Step beam, same as twin top beam, is also formed with only one roll forming unit. But there is one more processing after roll forming, that is, seam welding. Bearing capacity of step beam is a little less than the former two beams.
